Fun Middle-Grade Chapter Book! "The Ghost In Me" Giveaway!

Fun Middle-Grade Chapter Book!

"Myri Monaco has problems she doesn't know how to deal with: a crush on her best friend's boyfriend, a mother who's dating her science teacher, and a "punishment" for a science project that lands her in auditions for the school play (the last place she wants to be). But most girls don't have a ghost living at home who is willing to "trade places" whenever she's needed. Will ghostly possession be an easy solution when problems collide? Or, will Myri lose everything to a ghost wanting to fulfill her own desires?"
Review by Mom Does Reviews:
Would you like to have a ghost for a best friend? Myri's has one! Her name is Wren. Imagine the possibilities for pranks, mischief and other fun you could have. Would you let your other best friend, Roz, borrow your ghost? Well, Roz uses Wren without telling Myri.
To make matters worse, Myri's mom is dating her science teacher. Stranger things keep happening. Myri needs and after school activity to make up for her cockroach science experiment gone wrong. Myri gets drama instead of detention. There's another problem, Myri has never been any good at acting. Be sure to read The Ghost in Me to find out what Myri decides to do!
Shaunda keeps the reader guessing at every turn. Nothing keeps kids more entertained then when they the main character faces so many delightful dilemmas! Shaunda 's style remind me of Judy Blume! Her humor makes this book a fast favorite for kids ages 7 to 12.
My favorite part of the book is the cockroach experiment gone wrong. Proving that cockroaches could live without a head was bad enough, but when one headless bug landed in the prissy girl, Brittley's hair, things keep getting funnier. Shaunda's vivid descriptions of the bug in the hair still keep me shivering when I think about it.
My son and I read chapter books before bed every night. Even though The Ghost in Me has a girl for the main character, my son loved it. I know it's a hit when he keeps asking for us to read ONE more chapter. In fact, I took the book with me to work so I could finish reading it. It was so fun, I had to find out what Myri would do! I highly recommend The Ghost in Me for kids and adults alike!
