  2. Listen to the doctor, not everyone else who gives "advice!"

  3. Do not be afraid to ask for help you are not perfect and we all need help and get scared when we are new parents ...

  6. I would tell a new mom to listen to her instincts. They rarely steer you wrong!

  7. My best tip is to remember to follow your gut instincts and to remember to not beat yourself up if you make a mistake. Life goes on. You love your child and your child loves you. There is a way to fix almost anything and you can use it as learning experience for next time. Hug your little one and enjoy each day to the max because soon they'll be in school and will think their mom is kind of lame and ask you to not volunteer to be room parent (but could you pretty please make the awesome cupcakes that look like pumpkins for the party?)

  8. I can't really give any "advice" since this is my first pregnancy, but I'm hoping I can deal with everything graciously, always remembering how much of a blessing all of this truly is, even when it's difficult. God is good to me!

  9. The most important tip I can give is to always remember that your child is going to be his or her own person. They're going to have their own opinions on things, even at a very young age, and some parents sadly forget that and treat their chid as their own special play thing. Teach them everything you can, but give them space to make their own decisions.

  10. The best advice I ever received was to sleep when your newborn is sleeping. The house work can wait, it is important for you to get that sleep!

  11. The best tip i have is that all babies are different. Not one is the same. So trust your instincts and really get to know your baby. And talk to them as you would to an adult. Also sleep when your baby is asleep. House work can wait. Your baby needs you to be 100%.

  12. I am a new mommy and have no tips :/ I'm still learning!

  13. Go with the flow. There is so much advice out there that it can be overwhelming. Just trust your gut and do what works for you.

  14. Love your baby to death, but don't forget about your partner. You were together first, so when possible, make quality time for each other. One day that baby is going to grow up and leave the two of you behind! LOL

  15. take a deep breath and dont be afraid to ask for help!!

  17. It's ok to lower your "clean house" standards. Laundry, dishes and dusting can wait, but what they say about babies growing up way too fast is really true. It seems you blink and your baby isn't such a baby anymore.

  18. Always listen to your "mommy gut". Instincts are built in.

  21. NAP! You have to stay healthy yourself. Housework can come later. Lean on others if you can't let errands go.

  22. trust your natural instincts stay calm ,you know whats best for your child dont listen to everyone who has helpful advice ,though they mean well this can sometimes overwhelm and confuse you , tak etime to really enjoy your new baby and bonding , no mother is perfect ittakes time and pratice ,let others help when needed try to get alot of rest

  23. that sometimes the best advice is not to listen to what everyone else did or does with their baby, each baby is different, what works with one may not work with the next

  26. My tip for any expectant parent is to take whatever you've read, and toss it out the window. Sure, it gives you some guidelines about development and so on, but they are just that...Guidelines. My little one was whistling clearly and intentionally at 18 months...My sister's son, who is 4 months older, took an additional year or so before he could whistle. They say that my daughter shouldn't have been able to whistle yet, and, by the time my sister's son had learned, he should have already been whistling. A lot of the information is pooled data...Like an "average grade." Don't panic if your child isn't walking by the time they are "likely" to be. Each child is an individual...just like everyone else. :-)

  27. Try to nap when your baby naps. :) Catch up on your sleep whenever possible.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Always go with your instincts and remember that every child develops at a different pace. You can't pin every child to the same growth and developmental chart. When your baby is ready to learn how to do something, he or she will.
