E.T. - Phone home

E.T. was a famous character from the movie. Of course, you will more than likely know who and what he is. The little character has a different meaning to me as it would most. When I was just a child, my mother and father decided to move to my father’s home state New York a very long way from Alabama. My pawpaw was attached to me very much since I was the first and only grandchild at the time. Even though I was an infant, he would call and want to talk to me just to hear me coo over the phone. During this time, my nickname became E.T. to him. That is what he called me for a very long time. The meaning of this nickname was so that I would phone home. Like from the movie when the alien said "E.T. Phone Home”. A bunch of things changed over the years and I eventually returned to my grandparents along with my baby brother. Pawpaw and Mawmaw raised us. Only a few people know my REAL nickname and the meaning behind it. Most know me by my other nickname, "Sissy". This was my baby brother’s very first word. I love him. I loved him so much as a child that I called him my baby. Last year we lost my pawpaw and it was a hard time, it is still a hard time; I miss him very much.  The holidays bring back memories from my childhood and I’m sure there will be more post about memories and the little objects that have secret meanings in my life.
