2013 Makeup Tips From Spring Fashion Week
Red Zone
When thinking of spring
colors, red does not usually come to mind; however, red was everywhere at this
spring’s fashion spectacular. Red lips
made a statement as they adorned pale faces.
Stylists recommend outlining the outer part of the lips in red lipliner
pencil to accentuate their shape. This
also makes your lips look fuller and bigger.
From black cherry and pinky red, to matte crimson and creamy scarlet,
red is definitely making an appearance this spring.
Full Eyeliner
With the reemergence of
the cat-eye trend last year, eyeliner has become a cosmetic necessity. You can dramatically change the look of your make-up by simply switching your eye lining
technique. For a soft look, try using a
thin, tight outline and then smudging it gently. To create a smoky eye, apply a thicker line
of mascara over a charcoal gray eyeshadow.
Then smudge both the top and bottom lash lines. You can easily go from a professional look
for the office, to a wilder nighttime look with just a few strokes of your
eyeliner.
Fun with Lashes
Few people know that
there are multiple ways that you can prepare your lashes. This season, clumpy chunks are in. There are certain mascaras designed to assist
you in achieving the clumpy look; however, you can use your own mascara as
well. After applying a thick coat, use
the end of your eyeliner or eyebrow pencil and gently clump your lashes
together by making spaces. Let them dry,
and then reapply another coat. If you
are having trouble doing it yourself, try a full set of false eyelashes. You can create any look with your eyelashes
by applying a false pair. Offset the look with white eyeliner and a dark eyeshadow.
Blue and Green
Many professional
cosmetic artists suggest adding blue and green to your eyeshadow palette
this spring. It seems that a
Mediterranean look has taken center stage this year with the use of beautiful
shades of jade, turquoise, and aqua. Use
a thin application of green eyeliner, with a saturated smudge of sapphire on
the eye lid base. You can even add
sparkles if you want to enhance the look even further.
Glowing Skin
The best looks this year
are ones that promote natural and fresh looking skin, especially if you are
wearing a colorful outfit. Sometimes
pairing brightly colored clothes with bold cosmetics becomes too dramatic. If you are wearing an intricate or loud ensemble,
keep your shades natural and neutral.
After applying your foundation as usual, use a bronzer on the top of
your nose, forehead, and cheekbones.
This creates a beautiful bronze, sun-kissed look. You can even try incorporating a highlighter
under your foundation or a light-reflecting primer in order to make your skin
glow.
The trends in cosmetics
this year are fun and exciting. Play
around with your color palette this spring and find a look that makes your skin
look radiant.
