I'm a little late with my post but yesterday's prompt was -- "Tell me one of your favorite comfort foods" .

I have several comfort foods -- and several that I can no longer have . One of my comfort foods is "Nana's Chili" . Nana was a great woman -- my husbands grandmother that over the years became my grandmother -- I loved her like my own as did she with me. Nana taught me a lot in the kitchen -- she taught me how to take care of my husband by cooking (good non/burnt meals :] ) and everything else that a woman should know. During the winter she made chili but not just any chili it was special she took time in every meal she cooked -- they were always special. Her chili was the best that i've ever had . Fresh tomatoes , diced onions and seasonings that were amazing. I could try to reattempt it but I'm not sure if I want to .Sadly Nana passed away last year -- it was a very hard time for me and my husband. Nana meant the world to us both and was one of those people that you think will be around forever , until reality sinks in and you realize they're really gone.
Quite a few lessons were learned from that lovely woman -- I will cherish them forever in my heart.

The photo above is Nana on the day that our oldest son was born --- Nana's buddy is what she called him and she always said "I love you forever and ever" . He simply would reply -- "Forever" .
Love you Nana and miss you always.
