Cleaning your shower head:
Taking showers are one of my favorite alone times, as most of you are mothers of smaller children I’m sure that you will understand. The one thing that I hate about showers is when the shower head does not distribute the water evenly – maybe I’m a little OCD about it but that will be alright – nothing wrong with wanting to be as clean as possible.

If your shower head has a few spouts that are not working correctly my bet is that they are clogged.
Mineral Deposits build up in the sprayer’s holes & cause this problem. Mineral deposits are naturally occurring solid substances that can become hard and clog the holes. To help with the removal of the deposits remove the shower head and boil in vinegar. Depending on how thick the deposits are depends on the time that the head will need to soak. Make sure to keep a close eye on the head , it would be best to keep the heat on low – we still want our shower head after we’re done cleaning it.

Once the deposits have been removed grab the shower head from the pot with a pair of tongs so you won’t burn your hands. Most say to just rinse it but I like to soak it a little more in just plain cold water, this will also help with the cooling process. Once the head has cooled down run it under the faucet while rubbing the head to make extra sure that all deposits are removed. Return the shower head to the bathroom.
Tip: If you have a shower head that cannot be unscrewed you can soak your shower head by using a rubber band and a Ziploc bag. Let the head soak in the bag for an hour – turn head on to rinse and polish with a soft cloth.
