2013 Makeup Tips From Spring Fashion Week

2013 Makeup Tips From Spring Fashion Week
Red Zone
When thinking of spring colors, red does not usually come to mind; however, red was everywhere at this spring’s fashion spectacular.  Red lips made a statement as they adorned pale faces.  Stylists recommend outlining the outer part of the lips in red lipliner pencil to accentuate their shape.  This also makes your lips look fuller and bigger.  From black cherry and pinky red, to matte crimson and creamy scarlet, red is definitely making an appearance this spring.
Full Eyeliner
With the reemergence of the cat-eye trend last year, eyeliner has become a cosmetic necessity.  You can dramatically change the look of your make-up by simply switching your eye lining technique.  For a soft look, try using a thin, tight outline and then smudging it gently.  To create a smoky eye, apply a thicker line of mascara over a charcoal gray eyeshadow.  Then smudge both the top and bottom lash lines.  You can easily go from a professional look for the office, to a wilder nighttime look with just a few strokes of your eyeliner.
Fun with Lashes
Few people know that there are multiple ways that you can prepare your lashes.  This season, clumpy chunks are in.  There are certain mascaras designed to assist you in achieving the clumpy look; however, you can use your own mascara as well.  After applying a thick coat, use the end of your eyeliner or eyebrow pencil and gently clump your lashes together by making spaces.  Let them dry, and then reapply another coat.  If you are having trouble doing it yourself, try a full set of false eyelashes.  You can create any look with your eyelashes by applying a false pair. Offset the look with white eyeliner and a dark eyeshadow.
Blue and Green
Many professional cosmetic artists suggest adding blue and green to your eyeshadow palette this spring.  It seems that a Mediterranean look has taken center stage this year with the use of beautiful shades of jade, turquoise, and aqua.  Use a thin application of green eyeliner, with a saturated smudge of sapphire on the eye lid base.  You can even add sparkles if you want to enhance the look even further.
Glowing Skin
The best looks this year are ones that promote natural and fresh looking skin, especially if you are wearing a colorful outfit.  Sometimes pairing brightly colored clothes with bold cosmetics becomes too dramatic.  If you are wearing an intricate or loud ensemble, keep your shades natural and neutral.  After applying your foundation as usual, use a bronzer on the top of your nose, forehead, and cheekbones.  This creates a beautiful bronze, sun-kissed look.   You can even try incorporating a highlighter under your foundation or a light-reflecting primer in order to make your skin glow.
The trends in cosmetics this year are fun and exciting.  Play around with your color palette this spring and find a look that makes your skin look radiant.

Selecting the Perfect Engagement Ring

Most men would rather be left alone in the woods for a month straight than have to shop for an engagement ring. While it would be nice to let someone look at engagement rings for them, selecting an engagement ring is an intimate choice that can only be made by the groom. It’s perfectly normal to be intimidated by the price and the vast selection of diamond stones, but a little guidance can go a very long way.

Set Up a Budget

Before you set out to look at diamonds, determine how much you can spend. Not how much you want to spend, but how much you can actually spend. Doing so will be a big help to the jeweler in helping them decide the best options to show you. Remember that, just like buying a car, you can negotiate the price of an engagement ring. While it’s often said that a groom should be prepared to spend at least two months’ full salary on an engagement ring, you don’t have to fall prey to this adage. Believe it or not, this rule was contrived by a diamond company back in the 1940s as a way to get men to spend more on an engagement ring. It truly is the thought that matters when it comes to selecting a ring. What’s the use of buying the most expensive ring if you can’t have an equally nice wedding and honeymoon?

Surprise Her

Many future grooms bring their future wives with them to the jeweler to let them pick out their own ring. While this is a surefire way for the bride to get the ring that she wants, it’s not as much of a thrilling surprise as it would be if her fiancĂ© surprised her with the ring in a romantic gesture. Imagine not only proposing to your future wife, but selecting a ring that’s a perfect fit and selecting a ring that she loves. This is a great way to start off your future marriage and a great way to score points with her family and friends.

What’s Her Ring Size?

Selecting the right ring size is crucial to the proposal, and also where a lot of men mess up. Imagine the horror of bending down on one knee, asking the “big question” and slipping the ring on your girlfriend’s finger only to see that it’s not a good fit. If this does happen, all you have to do is take the ring back to the jeweler and get it refitted, But to avoid this, make sure the ring you pick out is the right size from the get-go. Get a ring that your girlfriend isn’t wearing and bring it to the jeweler to have it measured. To keep her in the dark, ask one of your girlfriend’s friends to swipe one of her rings or have them ask her for her ring size. Either that or you can swipe the ring yourself when your girlfriend’s in the bathroom. Just make sure that the ring is one that she doesn’t wear very often to keep her from getting suspicious.

Picking out an engagement ring doesn’t have to be another form of torture as long as you know what you’re doing. Take your time, make sure you have all of your bases covered, and everything is sure to go perfectly.

How to clean your shower head

Cleaning your shower head:
Taking showers are one of my favorite alone times, as most of you are mothers of smaller children I’m sure that you will understand. The one thing that I hate about showers is when the shower head does not distribute the water evenly – maybe I’m a little OCD about it but that will be alright – nothing wrong with wanting to be as clean as possible.
plumbing mississauga
If your shower head has a few spouts that are not working correctly my bet is that they are clogged.
Mineral Deposits build up in the sprayer’s holes & cause this problem. Mineral deposits are naturally occurring solid substances that can become hard and clog the holes. To help with the removal of the deposits remove the shower head and boil in vinegar.  Depending on how thick the deposits are depends on the time that the head will need to soak.  Make sure to keep a close eye on the head , it would be best to keep the heat on low – we still want our shower head after we’re done cleaning it.
plumbing scarborough
Once the deposits have been removed grab the shower head from the pot with a pair of tongs so you won’t burn your hands. Most say to just rinse it but I like to soak it a little more in just plain cold water, this will also help with the cooling process. Once the head has cooled down run it under the faucet while rubbing the head to make extra sure that all deposits are removed. Return the shower head to the bathroom.
Tip: If you have a shower head that cannot be unscrewed you can soak your shower head by using a rubber band and a Ziploc bag. Let the head soak in the bag for an hour – turn head on to rinse and polish with a soft cloth.

When was the last time you had your eyes checked?

When was the last time you had your eyes checked?  I feel that the older we get the more frequent eye exams we should have. As we age our body changes and so do our eyes. Having migraines or headaches a lot more lately? Maybe  they are caused by your vision.
Eye exams are often not labeled as a necessity , however I believe they should be at the top of the list. Without our sight and the proper vision we will all be in heap of trouble!

Here is some information for you to read:

Oral Care -- Important tips to remember

Oral care is a very important step in our daily hygiene routines. Do you know how important it is to take care of your teeth? Did you know that over 300 species of normal bacteria live in your mouth? Did you also know that if not taken care of properly these bacteria can cause infections and pain? By taking care of our teeth we can lower the number of bacteria to an “okay” point that will not cause damage to our teeth. For starters by taking care of our teeth we prevent plaque from forming. Plaque is a clear film that builds up on our teeth, when too much plaque builds up the thickness and color changes to a pale yellow. Plaque can cause gingivitis – a gum disease that can make your gums red, swollen and sore. By brushing your teeth twice a day everyday you can help prevent plaque buildup and gingivitis along with cavities and other complications. Cavities are painful spots on teeth that have begun to rot the tooth. If not taken care of properly cavities can become extremely painful and eventually will cause the tooth to break or chip away. Here is an amazing info graphic with great tips that may help with properly taking care of your teeth:

dentist-las-vegas Infographic from the Dentist in Las Vegas, Haymore Endodontics.

Dental hygiene is very important, teach your children early and remember to set a good example as well. Make a family event of it every night before bed and every morning after breakfast. The kids will enjoy the time spent with you and to make it even more fun you could also make up a funny dance that you and them can do while brushing your teeth.  Just remember to brush daily.

Technology – Enjoy the great things in life.

Technology has changed and still advances with every day that passes. Throughout the years mankind has went from almost non-existent knowledge to extraordinary knowledge. Computers, smart phones, smart cars and wireless (anything). Now in this day and age there is almost something for everyone to enjoy.
The human species’ use of technology began with the conversion of natural resources into simple tools. Take the wheel for example, our ancestors created the first wheel to help with the movement of large objects and the ability to travel. The telephone and internet created the ability of communicating on a more freely scale. Not having to travel fifty miles just to tell your husband dinner was going to be late would have been a great relief.
Thanks to technology we are allowed to live our lives more freely and have the ability to enjoy them a lot more. Capture photos and be able to view them as quick as you can take them, enjoy a two hour conversation with a loved one that is in a completely different country or watch a movie on your smart phone while flying in the sky. How about listen to your favorite music while getting your workout in the swimming pool? Have you heard of the waterproof iPod? Yes, it does exist along with the accessories to properly enjoy your favorite music while underwater.
Thanks to one of the founders at Underwater Audio we are now able to enjoy the freedom of listening to our favorite music while getting our workout in the swimming pool or diving underwater capturing beautiful photos of extraordinary sea life. The waterproof iPod also works as just a normal iPod as well. SO the worry of your children knocking over a drink or dropping your device into a glass of water decreases completely. It’s like having a super device with extraordinary powers, something we all could use and love.

Hiring a virtual assistant and the benefits of it

Hiring a virtual assistant and the benefits of it ---
Virtual assistants (VA’s) are generally self employed individuals that provide services to you and/or your company online and/or by telephone. Most virtual assistants offer services which may include:

-Manage customer spreadsheets
-Manage meetings and calendars
-Handle travel arrangements
-Billing and accounting
-Newsletters (preparing and sending)
- Handle inquiries by phone and/or email
-Research
-Writing reports
-Maintaining websites

Each assistant offers a different ability; when beginning to search for virtual assistant make sure to check that their abilities will meet the tasks that you will need to be performed. We wouldn’t hire a piano player as a chef or a chef as a piano player, would we? If you need someone to schedule meetings, handle emails or take phone calls the assistant should have experience in these or they may not work out too well. Hiring a virtual assistant to handle tasks for you can be a great asset in keeping your stress levels down along with the workload. If you are a small company that is operated from your personal home and would not like for employees to be there a virtual assistant would be the perfect solution.

The benefits of hiring a Virtual assistant:

-Assistants pay their own taxes and benefits (this also means less paperwork for you.)
-Assistants use their own office supplies and equipment (will lower the costs of having employees and providing the necessary items for them to complete tasks.)
-Pay only for time spent on tasks (because of this you will not have to pay for employees who spend most of their time browsing the internet or chatting with co-workers.)
-NO risk of harassment, unfair dismissal and discrimination suits (Assistants work from their own personal office.)
-Is committed to you and your company (the assistant will focus only on tasks that are for your benefit during their working hours.)
-You select the times/days/hours they work (most assistants have flexible schedules that will meet your needs.)

In this fast paced world companies are starting to turn more and more towards Virtual Assistants to get tasks done quickly and effectively without a lot of hassle. IF you have a heavy workload and are possibly under stress look more into hiring a VA.

Picking the best of the baby walkers

Picking the best of the baby walkers
When your baby starts getting the urge to go places, there's plenty of exercise equipment and play aides out there to encourage those first steps. Between the ages of around five months to a year is an exciting time for them, learning and growing every day. When properly supervised, baby walkers can enable them to discover and get a different perspective on their surroundings. But which types are best for a baby's needs?

The conventional walker is one where the baby sits in the center of a wheeled base, able to move around as they like. The obvious precaution here is to make sure anything hazardous is out of reach, only placing them in the walker in a large, even space and keeping a close eye on their movements. This said, most of these types of products have built-in safety features, like a device which locks the wheels if they come into contact with a different surface or a top step.
The alternative is the activity walker, which the baby pushes along like a trolley or pram. As the baby is free to let go of the walker at any time, these are often considered more suitable for older babies (towards a year old) who have naturally gained their balance and are progressing towards walking alone. Advantages include a detachable activity tray in many designs.
You could also look at stationary 'exersaucers' or jumpers. These are basically a baby entertainment center without the wheels but with a swivel or rocking action. They often come with a front tray and overhanging toys. While activity centers can be good if you need a free pair of hands, they still need supervision and may be better for younger ones around 4-5 months, who aren't crawling yet but want to engage in basic movement.
Combination products are also available if you can't decide between the stationary and mobile options, or want something your child can grow with. But with all products, it's necessary to check the labels, making sure the toys are age-appropriate and that the walker has met the approved safety standards. If you can, try in the shop before you buy, as the best way of determining what will suit your baby.

The five pairs of glasses everyone needs-

The five pairs of glasses everyone needs-

Gone are the days when everyone just has a single pair of glasses. Glasses are no longer only a necessity; they are now a fashion statement as well. Many people cannot imagine the horror associated with loosing or breaking their only pair of glasses? How could you drive, or see the world before you. For this reason and many more, the following are examples of types of glasses that everyone should have.
The everyday pair: This is your utilitarian pair of glasses. If someone took a candid snapshot of your life they should feature prominently on your face. These glasses are the first thing that you touch in the morning and the last thing that you touch at night. This type is ideal for running errands, driving the car or playing with the kids. These glasses are you.
The sophisticated pair: We all have people that we want to impress in our lives. On the days that you want to make a great impression, such as when asking your boss for a raise, or meeting your in laws for the first time, you want to appear, sophisticated, intelligent and smart. Picture yourself on the book jacket of your bestselling novel; these are the glasses that you are wearing.
Contact lenses: These are not technically glasses, but most people with glasses change things up from time to time by switching to contact lenses. These days you can easily order contact lenses online, so more and more people are trying them out. After all glasses are not great for all types of occasions. For example if you are having an important photo taken such as at your wedding or your graduation, a pair of glasses that you love right now, may go out of style in a few years, and your picture may become dated before its time. Activities such as watching 3D movies, swimming or wearing non-prescription sunglasses are much more comfortable when you are wearing contacts.
The funky glasses: When you first start wearing glasses you can be very self-conscious. Many times people choose plain glasses so that no one will notice that they are wearing them. However, as the years pass, we become more and more comfortable and view our glasses not as a tool that we use for seeing better, but also as a fun accessory. Funky pair of glasses can showcase your personality and be that most talked about accessory at the party. These glasses are great of nights out on the town, and when you want to stand out from the crowd.
The ugly glasses: Maybe you were ill advised at a fitting, or just followed a trend, but everyone has that one pair of glasses that just does not suit them. Strangely, these glasses are the most comfortable. They are ideal for lounging around the house and hiding from everyone you know, including the mail man. This is the perfect emergency pair to take with you on vacations, as you may not be too upset if you leave them at a café.
