The amazing "Movie Clean" -- A quick Cleaning story :)

Guess what I recently realized. Our movie collection is just out of control! We have DVD’s, VHS; yes we still have the dinosaur tapes even though they are in a rather large box and we have no way of playing them anymore. Do they even make VCR’s anymore? Our children love cartoons and anything to do with pirates, so over the years the collection has grown tremendously only now for me to realize that quite a few of them do not get watched or even taken from their cases that often. So, this mommy has decided it’s time for a little “Movie Clean”. While sifting through them I came across one of my favorites and several that I decided just needed to go. I contemplated on having a yard sale or just simply giving them away and that’s when the geek came out in me. Knowing that certain stores will purchase old games and/or gaming consoles I was on the mission to find a place that would buy my old DVD’s. After a quick Google search and going through countless websites I found several great places but only one really stood out. After signing up and going through a very quick and easy process I was able to print labels and send my old DVD’s in for some great cash. It’s not a lot of money but at least I have more room in our DVD collection to either add more movies that we will most definitely watch or simply have a nicer neater collection of DVD’s. My boy’s movie case sure did enjoy the little cleaning spree it was almost ready to burst at the seams! So let me ask you, do you have  a DVD collection that could use a nice cleaning? Well make sure to take the simple way out exactly like I did. Be sure to linkup to any posts in the comments below :)

Cleaning ---- The dullness of life!

Have you ever had that spur of the moment feeling, "I've got to clean something!". That feeling does not come my way to often (even though I wish it would.) Making schedules and lists is one thing I love to do. However when I make these lists I really never get anything accomplished. The list just sits there waiting for a mark to be made. Another thing that I have found that really does help is pictures or a cleaning show. All the things I want, the way I want my house to look, smell, feel. So try this if your needing a little bit of inspiration, head on over to pinterest and checkout some home decor pins. They really help!
Here are just a few that I have found today:

And so it Begins.

Today is going to be a really busy day. It is the first day of my weekly cleaning/organizing. The boys and I have just finished lunch and they are now both down for naps. The laundry is calling my name, and then it's grind time. My plan for today is to get everything cleaned  (Not deep cleaned). Just want everything in nice working order before I begin on the hard stuff. Now please remember that I do live in a mobile home, so my space is very limited. But hopefully when I'm done my home will be something I'm very proud of!

Will try to update with some photo's later, not sure if I can get to them today since we have our monthly grocery store visit this afternoon.

If you are attempting the "Organize your house in a week" Please share, would love to see your progress.

Organize your home in one week.

There are a million different ways to organize your home, here is an idea that I came up with today.

1. Clean up first, place things where they should go. (No need to deep clean just yet.)

2. Plan Ahead- If your off work or are a stay at home parent like myself designate days for each room.
For Example:
Monday- Master Bedroom/Bath
Tuesday- Kitchen & Laundry Room
Wednesday- Living Room
Thursday- Riley's Room
Friday- Jayden's Room
Each day create a Toss/Sell/Keep piles and go through everything, even if you have to completely empty the room. But make sure you finish what you started, we don't want to make a larger mess.

3. While going through the contents of the room, deep clean. If it's the kitchen clean out the fridge, wipe out the cabinets, scrub the floors. If you do it now then it will be done and the next time it shouldn't be to hard to complete again.

4. Don't keep the SELL or TOSS items. They need to be gone as soon as possible.

5. Have a yard sale on Saturday to get rid of the items that you intend to sell. If you don't sell them all then donate them that day.

These are just a few tips to help you organize your home, let me know how this works for you. Want to share photo's of your accomplishment? Send them to sas0327@gmail.com Subject, "Pics" and they could be shared in a blog post!
